Born into a middle-class family. His father worked as a foreman in a metallurgical plant and his mother worked as a housewife. Putin lived with his parents in a shared building with two other families. Although religion was not allowed in the Soviet Union, his mother loved Christianity.
Career
He joined Russian politics in 1990 and works here for the KGB. After leaving the KGB in 1994 he was elected deputy mayor. On March 26, 2000, the Russians elected Putin as Prime Minister with one contender being roughly eleven candidates. First and foremost, Putin’s early moves involved working with a team of economists over a plan to improve the country’s economy.
