CEO and majority shareholder of Pixar; Member of the Board of Directors of The Walt Disney Company after its acquisition of Pixar; and Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NeXT Corporation. Jobs and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak are widely recognized as pioneers of the microcomputer revolution in the 1970s and 1980s.

Early Life
Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco to Syrian parents who had to give him up for adoption at birth.
Education
He then decided to travel through India in 1974 in search of enlightenment and study Zen Buddhism. The declassified FBI report on Jobs stated that an acquaintance knew that Jobs had used the illegal drugs marijuana and LSD while in college. Jobs once told a reporter that taking LSD was “one of the two or three most important things” he had done in his life.
Family
Steve Jobs’s father, Paul, died a year and a half later, on March 5, 1993. Jobs and Powell had two more children, Erin, born in August 1995, and Eve, born in 1998. The family lived in Palo Alto, California. Jobs died at his home around 3 p.m. On October 5, 2011, due to complications caused by a relapse of islet cell neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, resulting in respiratory arrest. He lost consciousness the day before and died with his wife, children, and sisters by his side.

Marriage Life
In 1989, Jobs first met his future wife, Lauren Powell, when he lectured at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was a student. On New Year’s Day 1990, Jobs suggested “a handful of freshly cut wildflowers.” They married on March 18, 1991, in a Buddhist ceremony at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park.
