Steve Harvey was born on the 17th of January, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, the son of Jesse Harvey, a coal miner, and his wife, Eloise Vera. His first name is Broderick, named after actor Broderick Crawford from the TV series Highway Patrol.
Education
He graduated from Glenville High School in 1974. He was a boxer, a car handler, an insurance salesman, a carpet cleaner, and a postman.
Career
He is the author of Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, published in March 2009, and Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find a Man and Keep a Man. Harvey previously hosted Showtime on Apollo, starred in The Steve Harvey Show, and appeared on The Original Kings of Comedy. He is a three-time Daytime Emmy and a 14-time NAACP Image Award winner in various categories.
