Steinway grew up in Los Angeles, California. There, he attended Windward School in Mar Vista. In 2009, he graduated from Windward and enrolled at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a spotlight in music enterprise. In 2010 after his freshman 12 months, he transferred from Northeastern to New York University, majoring in music enterprise. In 2012, Steinway moved again to Los Angeles and at present resides there.

The album was launched on July 27, 2018 via WeDidIt Records, and featured collaborations with Miguel, Julia Michaels, Chief Keef, Ty Dolla Sign, 24HRS and Joji. The album’s lead single, “I Wanna Know”, was launched on March 16, 2018, adopted by “Undo” on June 13, 2018, and “Pressure” on July 11, 2018. Commenting on the album’s idea, Henry said: “NOVA’ got here from obsessive ideation on development and on transition. The artwork and tales and the moments that impressed me via this report are inclined to discover this as nicely. The feeling of forsaking what was, and of welcoming the overseas. Throughout the method, I had this imaginative and prescient of a ‘nova’ or of a star no greater than an individual launching from earth into outer house and increasing endlessly till its mild was all that we may see.
