She competed in Miss India 2009. But was eliminated in an early-round despite winning the Miss India Talented 2009. She was crowned Miss India South Glamorous Hair 2010 in the sub-competition.
Her debut film was a Tamil film named Mugamoodi in 2012. The film received high expectations as a result of a new superhero theme in Tamil films, and the film made a huge opening at the box office in August 2012. Hegde’s performance also received mixed reviews with critic from Sify.
