Early Life

Morgan Freeman was born on 1st June, 1937. And he was born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States.

Education

He then attended Broad Street High School, a building that today operates as Threadgill Elementary School, in Greenwood, Mississippi. At the age of twelve, he won a statewide dramatic competition, and while at Broad Street High School, he gave a radio show in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 1955, he graduated from Broad Street, but turned down a partial drama scholarship from Jackson State University, choosing instead to join the United States Air Force and worked as an automatic radar tracker repairman, rising to first-class pilot.

Family

He is the son of Mayme Edna. He has three older siblings. According to DNA analysis some of his ancestors were from Niger.

Career

He made his acting at the age of 9. Freeman’s service photo appears in the funeral scene of his character in The Bucket List.

Since the beginning of his life, Freeman has had two children outside marriage; One of them is Alfonso Freeman, he was married to Janet Adair Bradshaw from October 22, 1967 until November 18, 1979, and Mirna Cowley married Lee on June 16, 1984. The couple separated in December 2007.

Freeman’s attorney and business partner Bill Lockett announced in August 2008 that Freeman and his wife were in divorce proceedings.
