Biography

He was born within the district Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan and studied Archeology at University of Peshawar, after which obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Ihsan labored for the University of Peshawar in varied positions from 1981 to 2002 the place he was primarily a Professor within the Archaeology Department. Ali has delivered lectures in varied universities of the world together with New York, Pennsylvania, Harvard, Boston, Ohio and California State University within the United States, Cambridge, Leicester, Southampton, Sheffield and Glasgow Universities within the UK, and ULM University in Germany. He has revealed greater than 63 analysis papers and edited 17 completely different volumes of journals in archaeology, for the University of Peshawar, Peshawar Museum and Hazara University. After being the Chair of Archaeology, University of Peshawar, for 3 years (1997–2000), he was appointed as Director Archaeology & Museums, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2002, and through his tenure, he established six museums and began a brand new Journal, Frontier Archaeology. In 2008, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assigned him the duty of building Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, with 9 campuses, three of which have now attained the standing of unbiased universities (Bacha Khan University Charsadda, University of Swabi and University of Buner).
